Shigeru Umebayashi (In the Mood for Love, House of Flying Daggers, The Grandmaster, 2046, Curse of the Golden Flowers) has composed the original music for the new Chinese fantasy drama The Yin Yang Master. The film is directed by Li Weiran and stars Chen Kun, Zhou Xun and William Chan. The movie based on the popular mobile game Onmyōji is set in a world that is on the verge of a devastating war with the monsters who are coming back to retrieve the Scaling Stone and follows the titular Yin Yang Master as he travels to different worlds to prepare for the upcoming assaults. Chen Kuo-fu (Mojin: The Lost Legend, The Message) and Chang Chia-lu (Detective Dee series, A World Without Thieves) are producing the project. The Yin Yang Master will premiere this Friday in Chinese theaters and will debut in the U.S. and most other international markets later this year on Netflix.
