Clint Mansell (Requiem for a Dream, Black Swan, Moon, The Fountain, Noah) is reuniting with Ben Wheatley on the upcoming horror movie In the Earth. The film is written and directed by Wheatley (Sightseers, Free Fire) and stars Joel Fry, Ellora Torchia, Hayley Squires and Reece Shearsmith. The movie revolves around a scientist and a park scout who venture deep in the forest for a routine equipment run as a deadly virus ravages the world. Andy Starke (Possessor, In Fabric) is producing the project. Mansell has previously collaborated with Wheatley on several projects, including High-Rise, Happy New Year, Colin Burstead and this year’s Rebecca. In the Earth will premiere at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival and will be distributed in the U.S. by Neon. No release date has been announced yet.
Mansell is also expected to continue to co-score the DC Universe shows Doom Patrol and Titans, which will return for new seasons in 2021 on HBO Max.
