The track is written and performed by Academy Award winner Gustavo Santaolalla (Brokeback Mountain, Babel, The Motorcycle Diaries, The Book of Life) & Grammy Award winner Gary Clark Jr. and features lyrics by Academy Award winner Paul Williams (The Muppet Movie, A Star Is Born). Freak Power is directed by Daniel Joseph Watkins & Ajax Phillips and follows outlaw journalist Hunter S. Thompson who – in 1970, disgusted by the way police are abusing their power – starts his own political movement to fight against corruption and cronyism in his town and across America. The documentary was released on VOD last week.
