Rotor Records has released a soundtrack album for the Finnish biographical drama Tove. The album features the film’s original music composed by Matti Bye (Everlasting Moments, Young Wallander, The 101-Year-Old Man Who Skipped Out on the Bill and Disappeared, A Serious Game,) The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Tove is directed by Zaida Bergroth and stars Alma Pöysti, Krista Kosonen, Shanti Roney and Joanna Haartti. The movie centers on famed artist, author and Moomins creator Tove Jansson and focuses on the period between the mid-40s and mid-50s, when she created the Moomins and embarked on a passionate affair with a female theatre director. The drama screened at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival and has just been released in Finnish theaters this past weekend. No word yet on a domestic distribution deal.
