Nick Urata (Crazy, Stupid, Love, Paddington, I Love You Phillip Morris, Ruby Sparks) is scoring the upcoming comedy Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar. The film is directed by Josh Greenbaum (Becoming Bond, The Short Game) and stars Kristen Wiig, Annie Mumolo, Jamie Dornan, Wendi McLendon-Covey and Damon Wayans Jr. The movie centers on two best friends who leave their small Midwestern town for the first time to go on vacation in Vista Del Mar, Fla., where they soon find themselves tangled up in adventure, love, and a villain’s evil plot to kill everyone in town. Wiig & Mumolo also co-wrote the screenplay and are producing the project with Will Ferrell & Adam McKay (The Big Short, The Other Guys) and Jessica Elbaum (Hustlers, Booksmart). Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar is set to be released in theaters nationwide on July 31, 2020 by Lionsgate.
Urata has also recently composed the music for the drama The True Adventures of Wolfboy, which premiered at last year’s Karlovy Vary Film Festival and is currently awaiting a release date.
