Matthew Herbert (Disobedience, A Fantastic Woman, Gloria Bell, Life in a Day) has composed the original music for the upcoming documentary The Cave. The film is directed by Feras Fayyad (One Day in Aleppo) and follows the documentarian as he returns to his native, wartorn Syria to follow a dedicated team of female doctors who tirelessly treat casualties in an underground hospital while battling systemic sexism. Kirstine Barfod and Sigrid Jonsson Dyekjær (Aquarela) are producing the project. The Cave will premiere later this month at the 2019 Toronto Film Festival and will be released in U.S. theaters this fall by National Geographic Documentary Films.
As previously reported, Herbert also has the Sky series Temple starring Mark Strong & Carice van Houten coming up.
