Craig Armstrong (Moulin Rouge!, The Great Gatsby, The Incredible Hulk, Love Actually, Romeo + Juliet) has recently scored the upcoming thriller The Burnt Orange Heresy. The film is directed by Giuseppe Capotondi (The Double Hour) and stars Claes Bang, Elizabeth Debicki, Mick Jagger and Donald Sutherland. The movie is based on Charles Willeford’s noir novel of the same title and follows an ambitious art critic who steals a rare painting and becomes consumed by his own greed as the operation spins out of control. Scott B. Smith (A Simple Plan) wrote the screenplay. David Zander (Spring Breakers), William Horberg (The Talented Mr. Ripley, Cold Mountain) and David Lancaster (Whiplash, Nightcrawler) are producing the project. The Burnt Orange Heresy will premiere at this year’s Venice and Toronto Film Festivals within the next month.
Armstrong also has Disney’s The One and Only Ivan (to be released in August 2020) coming up and has also scored the British drama Mrs. Lowry & Son, which will be released in British theaters on August 30.
