Legacy Recordings has announced a soundtrack album for the PBS documentary Country Music. The soundtrack represents artists featured in each of the series’ episodes, including the Carter Family, Jimmie Rodgers, Randy Travis, the Judds & more. The soundtrack will be released in a deluxe 5-CD set on August 30, 2019 and as a 2-CD/vinyl and digital version on September 13. Visit Amazon to order the deluxe 5-CD set and click here to pre-order the 2-CD/vinyl version. Country Music is directed and produced by Ken Burns and chronicles country music’s early days, from southern Appalachia’s songs of struggle, heartbreak and faith to the rollicking Western swing of Texas, California’s honky-tonks and Nashville’s “Grand Ole Opry.” The documentary will premiere on September 15 on PBS.
