Alberto Iglesias is reteaming with Pedro Almadovar on the upcoming Spanish drama Pain & Glory (Dolor y gloria). The film is written and directed by Almodovar and stars Antonio Banderas, Asier Etxeandía, Leonardo Sbaraglia, Nora Navas, Julieta Serrano, César Vicente and Asier Flores. Penélope Cruz is also making an appearance. The movie revolves around a film director as he looks back on the choices he’s made in life as his past catches up with him to upend the present. Agustin Almodovar (Wild Tales) is producing the project.Iglesias has previously collaborated with Almodovar on all of the director’s features (including All About My Mother, Talk to Her, Volver and The Skin I Live In) over the last two decades. Pain & Glory will premiere in Spanish theaters this coming March. No word yet on a domestic release date.
Iglesias (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, The Constant Gardener, The Kite Runner) has also recently scored the biographical drama Yuli, which opened in Spanish theaters last month. A soundtrack album will be announced soon.
