Decca Records has released organist Peter Hurford’s interpretation of J.S. Bach’s Fantasia In C Minor, BWV 562 from Yorgos Lanthimos’ historical comedy drama The Favourite. The track is now available to download as a digital single on Amazon. The single marks the first and to date only official release of music from the film. The Favourite starring Olivia Colman, Emma Stone, Rachel Weisz, Nicholas Hoult, Joe Alwyn, James Smith, Mark Gatiss and Jenny Rainsford centers on the bitter battle between cousins to be the court favorite during the reign of Queen Anne in the early 18th century. The movie premiered at this year’s Venice Film Festival and is now playing select U.S. theaters. Visit the official movie website to learn more about the Fox Searchlight release.
