Jeff Russo and Jordan Gagne are scoring the upcoming Fox drama The Passage. The show is developed by Liz Heldens (Friday Night Lights, The Orville) based on Justin Cronin’s best-selling trilogy of the same name and stars Saniyya Sidney, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Caroline Chikezie, Henry Ian Cusick, Vincent Piazza, Jamie McShane, Brianne Howey, McKinley Belcher III, and Emmanuelle Chriqui. The series focuses on Project NOAH, a secret medical facility where scientists are experimenting with a dangerous virus that could lead to the cure for all disease, but also carries the potential to wipe out the human race. Heldens is also executive producing the 20th Century Fox Television production with Matt Reeves (War for the Planet of the Apes, Cloverfield), Ridley Scott (Gladiator, The Martian), David W. Zucker (The Good Wife, The Man in the High Castle), Adam Kassan and Jason Ensler (The Exorcist). Russo & Gagne have previously co-scored this year’s Paramount Network limited series Waco. The Passage will premiere on January 14, 2019 on Fox. Visit the official show website for updates.
Russo also continues to score CBS All Access’ Star Trek: Discovery, FX’s Legion and Starz’s Counterpart. The composer also has the Netflix original series The Umbrella Academy and Noah Hawley’s feature directorial debut Pale Blue Dot coming up. He also recently scored the psychological thriller Lizzie, which was released in theaters in September. A soundtrack album for the movie is now available on Lakeshore Records. Gagne is currently also scoring the first season of the new ABC dramedy The Rookie starring Nathan Fillion.
