Marco Beltrami is composing the original music for the upcoming thriller Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile. The film is directed by Joe Berlinger (Brother’s Keeper, Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2) and stars Zac Efron as Ted Bundy, alongside Lily Collins, Kaya Scodelario, John Malkovich, Haley Joel Osment, Jim Parsons, Terry Kinney and Dylan Baker. The movie tells the story of serial killer Ted Bunny from the perspective of his girlfriend Elizabeth Kloepfer, who struggled to accept the reality of her boyfriend’s nature. Michael Werwie wrote the screenplay. Ara Keshishian (Maggie) and Nicolas Chartier (Colossal, I Feel Pretty) are producing the project for Voltage Pictures, alongside Michael Costigan (Stoker, Out of the Furnace) for Cota Entertainment and Michael Simkin (Dirty Grandpa) for Ninjas Runnin’ Wild Productions. Beltrami has previously co-scored the Chartier-produced The Hurt Locker for Voltage Pictures. Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile is currently in post-production and is expected to premiere in 2019.
Beltrami (3:10 to Yuma, Scream, Logan, The Wolverine, World War Z) has also recently scored Jean-Francois Richet’s upcoming The Emperor of Paris (with Marcus Trumpp) and the thriller Underwater (with Brandon Roberts). His other recent scoring credits include John Krasinski’s A Quiet Place and the documentary Free Solo, which is currently playing in theaters
