Kurt Farquhar has announced that he will be composing the score for the upcoming BET original series American Soul. The show is created by Devon Greggory & Jonathan Prince and stars Sinqua Walls, Jason Dirden, Iantha Richardson, Christopher Jefferson, Katlyn Nichol and Jelani Winston. The drama is based on the life and career of Soul Train creator Don Cornelius and centers on his Soul Train dancers, crew and musicians in an unforgiving Hollywood in the 1970’s – how they work, play, rise and fall against the backdrop of Soul Train. Greggory & Prince are also executive producing the project with Jesse Collins and Tony Cornelius. American Soul will star production next week in Atlanta and is set to premiere in 2019 on BET.

Farquhar will also return to score the second season of The CW’s Black Lightning (premiering on October 9) and is also scoring the new CBS comedy The Neighborhood (premiering on October 1). He also has the feature comedy #twominutesoffame coming up.

  1. Tina Brewer says:

I am trying to find the entire score of the American Soul ending music, “Boo bop, bop”.
I have tried everything and can’t find it in the credits. My grandson’s name from G’pa is Boo Bop…trying to put a little video together.
