Mateo Messina has signed to score the upcoming NBC comedy I Feel Bad. The show is created by Aseem Batra (Marlon, Scrubs) and stars Sarayu Blue, Paul Adelstein, Zach Cherry, James Buckley, Aisling Bea and Johnny Pemberton. The series is inspired by Orli Auslander’s book I Feel Bad: All Day. Every Day. About Everything and shows one woman’s unfiltered take on the side effects of trying to have it all. Batra is also executive producing the Universal Television production with Amy Poehler (Difficult People, Broad City), Dave Becky (Master of None, Insecure), Josh Maurer (Howards End) and Julie Anne Robinson (The Last Song, One for the Money) who also directed the pilot episode. I Feel Bad is set to premiere on October 4, 2018 on NBC. Visit the official show website for updates.

Messina (Juno, BlockersCasual) also continues to score NBC’s Superstore, which will return for its fourth season this fall. He also recently scored the romantic comedy Little Italy directed by Donald Petrie and starring Hayden Christensen, Emma Roberts, Alyssa Milano, Adam Ferrara, Gary Basaraba, Linda Kash, Andrew Phung, Christina Rosato, Jayne Seymour and Danny Aiello. The movie revolves around a young couple who must navigate a blossoming romance, amidst a war between their families’ competing pizza restaurants. The comedy will be released in select theaters and on VOD on September 21, 2018 by Lionsgate.
