Intrada Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1999 action adventure The Mummy directed by Stephen Sommers and starring Brendan Fraser, Rachel Weisz, John Hannah and Arnold Vosloo. The album features the expanded original music from the Universal Pictures production composed and conducted by Jerry Goldsmith (The Omen, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Planet of the Apes, Patton, Basic Instinct), including over half an hour of previously unreleased music, plus alternate tracks. The label has also announced an expanded soundtrack for Sommers’ 2001 sequel The Mummy Returns featuring the film’s original music composed by Alan Silvestri (Back to the Future, Forrest Gump, Marvel’s The Avengers), including around 40 minutes of unreleased score, as well as alternate tracks.The 2-CD set is now available to order here, where you can also check out the full track list and listen to audio clips.

    Good news indeed. A solid action score by late Jerry G. and one of Silvestri´s best compositions since 2000. And the best thing is: It´s NOT a limited special edition!
