Two new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:

Opening in most theaters is the thriller Sicario: Day of the Soldado directed by Stefano Sollima and starring Benicio Del Toro, Josh Brolin, Isabela Moner, Jeffrey Donovan, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo and Catherine Keener. The film’s original is composed by Hildur Gudnadottir (Mary MagdaleneStrong IslandThe Oath). Varese Sarabande has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. Also opening wide is the comedy Uncle Drew directed by Charles Stone III and starring Kyrie Irving, Lil Rel Howery, Shaquille O’Neal, Reggie Miller, Nate Robinson, Chris Webber, Erica Ash, Lisa Leslie, Tiffany Haddish and Nick Kroll. Christopher Lennertz (Lost in Space, Ride Along, Horrible Bosses, Sausage Party) has composed the film’s original score. RCA Records has released as soundtrack album featuring the songs from the movie by  A$AP Ferg, Khalid, G-Eazy, French Montana & Remy Ma and other artists. Opening in limited release is the drama Leave No Trace directed by Debra Granik and starring Ben Foster, Thomasin Harcourt McKenzie, Jeff Kober and Dale Dickey. The film’s original music is composed by Dickon Hinchliffe (Winter’s BoneOut of the FurnaceLockeLast Chance HarveyLittle Men). Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. Also opening in limited release is the documentary Three Identical Strangers directed by Tim Wardle about three strangers who are reunited by astonishing coincidence after being born identical triplets, separated at birth, and adopted by three different families. Paul Saunderson (Starfish, 100 Streets) has composed the film’s original score. No soundtrack album has been announced yet. The documentary premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and is being distributed by Neon. Visit the official movie website for more information.

Also opening in select theaters is the western Woman Walks Ahead directed by Susanna White, written by Steven Knight and starring Jessica Chastain, Michael Greyeyes and Sam Rockwell. The film’s original music is composed by George Fenton (Interview with the Vampire, Groundhog Day, Hitch, Anna and the King, Blue Planet). No word yet on a soundtrack release. The western premiered at last year’s Toronto Film Festival and is being released by A24 and is now also available on DirecTV.

Also opening in select cities is the post-apocalyptic thriller The Domestics written and directed by Mike P. Nelson and starring Kate Bosworth, Tyler Hoechlin and Lance Reddick. Nathan Barr (True BloodThe AmericansCabin FeverHostelHemlock Grove) has composed the film’s original music. Sony Classical has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score last week. Another limited release this week is the British psychological drama Dark River written and directed by Clio Barnard and starring Ruth Wilson, Mark Stanley and Sean Bean. The film’s original music is composed by Harry Escott (Shame, Hard Candy, A Mighty Heart, Welcome to the Punch, Deep State). The composer also collaborated with PJ Harvey on the original song An Acre of Land, which is now available to download here. The drama premiered at last year’s Toronto Film Festival and is being distributed in the U.S. by FilmRise.

Also opening in limited release is the action thriller Black Water directed by Pasha Patriki and starring Jean-Claude Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren. Spencer Creaghan (Nobody Famous) has composed the film’s original music. Milan Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. Also opening in select U.S. cities is the Israeli-German drama The Cakemaker written and directed by Ofir Raul Graizer and starring Tim Kalkhof, Sarah Adler, Roy Miller, Zohar Strauss, Sandra Sade and Tamir Ben Yehuda. The film’s original music is composed and performed by Dominique Charpentier. Minimalist Records has released a soundtrack EP featuring the composer’s score. Opening in select theaters while also premiering on Netflix today is the documentary Recovery Boys directed by Elaine McMillion Sheldon about four young men in a farming-based rehab who forge a bond as they try to reinvent their lives after years of addiction. Daniel Hart (Pete’s Dragon, Ain’t Them Bodies Saints, A Ghost Story, Smilf, The Exorcist, Strange Angel) has composed the film’s original music. No soundtrack album has been announced. The movie is now available to stream on Netflix.
