James Edward Barker has signed on to score the upcoming gothic mystery thriller Gwen. The film is written and directed by William McGregor and stars Maxine Peake, Eleanor Worthington-Cox, Jodie Innes, Richard Harrington, Kobna Holdbrook-Smith and Mark Lewis Jones. The movie centers on a young girl who desperately tries to hold her family together in the face of a hostile local community, a rapacious slate mine nearing their land and a growing darkness that has begun to haunt her home life. Tom Nash (Deep State) and Hilary Bevan Jones (Pirate Radio) are producing the Endor and BFI production. Gwen is currently in post-production. No word yet on a release date.
Barker’s recent projects also include Andrew Haigh’s drama Lean on Pete, which is currently playing in select theaters, as well as the action thriller Final Score starring Dave Bautista & Pierce Brosnan, which is expected to be released later this year.
