Justin Hurwitz has won the Grammy Award for his music for Damien Chazelle’s La La Land in the Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media category. The other nominated composers in the category included Hans Zimmer (Dunkirk), Johann Johannsson (Arrival), Ramin Djawadi (Game of Thrones: Season 7) and Benjamin Wallfisch, Pharrell Williams & Zimmer (Hidden Figures). In the Best Song Written For Motion Picture, Television Or Other Visual Media, Lin-Manuel Miranda won the award for the song How Far I’ll Go from Disney’s animated feature Moana. In the Best Compilation Soundtrack Album for Visual Media category, Hurwitz and Marius De Vries won the Grammy for the soundtrack album for La La Land, which was released by Interscope Records.
In the Best Arrangement, Instrumental or A Cappella category, John Williams received the Grammy Award for Escapades For Alto Saxophone And Orchestra From Catch Me If You Can as featured on the John Williams & Steven Spielberg: The Ultimate Collection compilation soundtrack.
