John Williams revealed in a recent interview with Variety that he will compose the theme for the title character for the upcoming Solo: A Star Wars Story. As reported this past summer, John Powell is composing the score for the movie directed by Ron Howard and starring Alden Ehrenreich, Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Donald Glover, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Joonas Suotamo. Lawrence Kasdan (Raiders of the Lost Ark, Return of the Jedi) and Jon Kasdan wrote the screenplay. Kathleen Kennedy (Jurassic Park, The Sixth Sense) is producing the project with Allison Shearmur (Cinderella) and Simon Emanuel (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story). Williams has previously collaborated with Howard on 1992’s Far and Away. Solo: A Star Wars Story will be released on May 25, 2018 by Walt Disney Pictures.
