Fil Eisler has been hired to score the upcoming action thriller Proud Mary. The film is directed by Babak Najafi (London Has Fallen, Easy Money II: Hard to Kill) and stars Taraji P. Henson, Billy Brown, Jahi Di’Allo Winston and Danny Glover. The movie follows a hit woman working for an organized crime family in Boston, whose life is completely turned around when she meets a young boy whose path she crosses when a professional hit goes bad. John Stuart Newman & Christian Swegal and Steven Antin (Burlesque, Gloria) wrote the screenplay. Paul Schiff (My Cousin Vinny, Rushmore) and Tai Duncan (Into the Grizzly Maze) are producing the Screen Gems production. The thriller will be released in theaters nationwide on January 12, 2018 by Sony Pictures.
Eisler also has the comedy Life of the Party and the sci-fi drama The Titan coming up. The composer also continues to score Fox’s Empire, which currently airs in its fourth season Wednesday nights, as well as Lifetime’s UnREAL, which will return for its third season in early 2018.
