Dominic Lewis has signed on to score the upcoming family comedy Peter Rabbit. The film directed by Will Gluck (Easy A, Annie, Friends with Benefits) stars Domhnall Gleeson, Rose Byrne and Sam Neill, and features the voices of James Corden as the title character, Margot Robbie, Daisy Ridley and Elizabeth Debicki. The live-action/animated hybrid is based on Beatrix Potter’s classic stories of a rebellious rabbit trying to sneak into a farmer’s vegetable garden. Gluck also co-wrote the screenplay with Rob Lieber (Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day) and is producing the project with Zareh Nalbandian. “Peter and the the amazing world of Beatrix Potter was such a huge part of my childhood, so being able to put music to the magic of these characters is really a dream come true,” Lewis said in a statement. Peter Rabbit is set to be released on February 9, 2018 by Sony Pictures.
The composer whose previous scoring credits include Jodie Foster’s Money Monster, the animated movie Free Birds and the comedies Rough Night, The DUFF and Fist Fight also has the animated feature Henchmen and the thriller Hunter Killer starring Gerard Butler & Gary Oldman coming up. He also continues to score Amazon’s The Man in the High Castle and Disney’s new DuckTales TV series.
