Jonas Struck and Vladislav Delay are scoring the upcoming sports drama Borg/McEnroe. The film is directed by Janus Metz (Armadillo) and centers on the rivalry between U.S. tennis champ Jon McEnroe and Sweden’s Bjorn Borg, which came to a head at Wimbledon 1980. The movie stars Sverrir Gudnason as Borg, Shia LaBeouf as McEnroe, Stellan Skarsgardas as Borg’s trainer, Lennart Bergelin. Tuva Novotny, Robert Emms and Ian Blackman are co-starring. Ronnie Sandahl (Underdog) wrote the screenplay. Jon Nohrstedt (Bamse and the City of Thieves) and Fredrik Wikström Nicastro (Easy Money series) are producing the project. Struck’s previous scoring credits include 2006’s Prague starring Mads Mikkelsen and 2011’s Superclásico. Delay is best known for his work as electronic music artist Sasu Ripatti. Two of his tracks were featured in Alejandro Inarritu’s The Revenant. Borg/McEnroe is currently in post-production and is expected to premiere later this year.
