Rob Simonsen is composing the score for the upcoming coming-of-age drama The House of Tomorrow. The film marks the directorial debut of Peter Livolsi and stars Asa Butterfield, Alex Wolff, Ellen Burstyn, Nick Offerman, Maude Apatow and Michaela Watkins. The movie is based on Peter Bognanni’s novel of the same name and tells the story of futurist, architect and inventor R. Buckminster Fuller through two teens hoping to get laid, become punk gods and survive high school. Livolsi also wrote the screenplay. Tarik Karam is producing the project with Superlative Films’ Danielle Renfrew Behrens (The Queen of Versailles, Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck). The House of Tomorrow is currently in post-production and is expected to be released later this year.
Simonsen’s upcoming projects also include Marc Webb’s Gifted and Zach Braff’s Going in Style, both of which will be released on April 7, 2017, as well as Lawrence Sher’s Bastards, which is currently awaiting a new release date.
