Mandy Hoffman is reteaming with director Azazel Jacobs on the upcoming indie comedy The Lovers. The film is written and directed by Jacobs and stars Debra Winger, Tracy Letts, Aidan Gillen, Melora Walters, Tyler Ross and Jessica Sula. The movie follows a long-married couple whose romantic spark dwindles in the midst of their respective affair. However, when they sit down to call it quits, they find themselves suddenly and unexpectedly falling back in love again. Ben LeClair (Upstream Color, Year of the Dog) and Chris Stinson are producing the project. Hoffman has previously collaborated with Jacobs on all of his previous movie, most notable the 2011 feature Terri starring John C. Reilly. The Lovers will be released in select theaters on May 5, 2017 by A24.
