Director James Mangold confirmed on Twitter that Marco Beltrami is currently scoring the upcoming Wolverine sequel Logan. The film starring Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Richard E. Grant, Boyd Holbrook, Stephen Merchant and Dafne Keen follows an an aging Wolverine and Professor X must protect a young female clone of Wolverine from an evil organization led by Nathanial Essex. Simon Kinberg (X-Men:Days of Future Past & Apocalypse, The Martian, Cinderella) and Lauren Shuler Donner (X-Men series, Deadpool, Constantine) are producing the project. No word yet on whether any music composed by Cliff Martinez who was originally hired to score the movie will be featured in the film. Beltrami previously composed the music for Mangold’s 2013 The Wolverine film and also collaborated with the director on 3:10 to Yuma, for which he received his first Academy Award nomination. Logan will be released on March 3, 2017 by 20th Century Fox. Visit the official movie website for updates.
Beltrami’s other upcoming projects also include Angelina Jolie’s Netflix original movie First They Killed My Father: A Daughter of Cambodia Remembers, the Russian drama Matilda and the History original series Six.
Neat.
Like it wasn’t listed on my site a while ago 😛
🙁 Disappointing! Was really looking forward to Martinez on this!!
Beltrami is ok, but nothing special.
This is Rogue One all over again…
Beltrami is one of the best composers today and write a very cool score for the last Wolverine-movie. So I’m looking forward to this music. 🙂
you mean most boring? Marco sucks
If you don’t like his music thats absolutly okay, but have a little more respect about the composers. And sorry.. boring? For me Marco Beltrami wrote the best score in 2016 (Gods of Egypt). But this is my opinion. So… Sorry that I have an another opinion than you.
i am sorry…that you have that opinion.
Everbody has another opinion and that’s good. But you will just bash and have no respekt for the opinion from other people. Your opinion isn’t the one and only. Think about that.
Do not waste your time arguing with this one, Ben. For him only Hans Zimmer who lends … He is a losing fanboy.
Thanks BB! No more questions.. Everything is clear now.
Great! It should not even have been discarded!
…Martinez is great and all, but I don’t why they didn’t go with Beltrami from the start. 3:10 to Yuma and The Wolverine are both awesome
Ben-Hur, Gods of Egypt, No Escape, Hitman – Agent 47, Fantastic Four, The Seventh Son, The November Man, The Giver… The guy has been scoring only box office bombs for the last 3 years. If Logan flops, it will be the proof that someone cursed him.
My god you’re right. Uuughh I hope Logan will crush it, honestly Fox needs to understand what they should and shouldn’t do with their movies.
Well, hoping the movie’s actually good of course, even though so far it seems to be amazing.
Cursed is having talent by the bucketful and no films on which to utilize it (cf. David Newman).
This is just a freak of coincidence.
He did score Snowpiercer, which is a serviceable score FWIW.
His latest box office successes, World War Z and The Wolverine, were almost four years ago.
But, leaving the jokes aside, the truth is that I don’t know why a talented composer like him is doing a lot of B movies that clearly are below him. Of course, he has no fault if Fantastic 4 or Gods of Egypt turned up to be really bad movies, but I’m not sure what attracted him to Hitman or The November Man.
Anyway, let’s hope that Logan will be a success.
I am waiting so badly for its soundtrack. Sad that Hugh is hanging those claws.
I watch logan full movie its my favorite
its a my favorite movie
