Ilan Eshkeri has been tapped to score the upcoming drama Breathe. The film is directed by actor Andy Serkis and stars Andrew Garfield, Claire Foy, Hugh Bonneville and Charles Chapman. The movie is based on a true story and centers on a brilliant and adventurous man whose life takes a dramatic turn when polio leaves him paralyzed. Academy Award nominee William Nicholson (Gladiator, Nell, Les Miserables, Shadowlands) has written the screenplay. Jonathan Cavendish (Bridget Jones’s Diary, Elizabeth: The Golden Age) is producing the project for The Imaginarium Studios. Breathe will be released in 2017 by Bleecker Street.
Eshkeri’s upcoming projects also include Jim Loach’s comedy drama Measure of a Man starring Donald Sutherland, Blake Cooper, Luke Wilson & Judy Greer. He also recently scored the period drama The Exception (previously entitled The Kaiser’s Last Kiss) starring Lily James, Jai Courtney & Christopher Plummer. The movie recently premiered at the Toronto Film Festival and was picked up by A24 Films for a release in 2017.
