Max Richter has been hired to score the upcoming dramatic thriller Miss Sloane. The film is directed by John Madden (Shakespeare in Love, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, The Debt) and stars Jessica Chastain, Mark Strong, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Michael Stuhlbarg, Alison Pill, Jake Lacy, Sam Waterston and John Lithgow. The movie follows a ruthless lobbyist notorious for her unparalleled talent who faces off against the powerful gun lobby in an attempt to pass gun control legislation. Jonathan Perera has written the screenplay. Ben Browning (Europa Report, Ondine) is producing the project for FilmNation, alongside Kris Thykier (Kick-Ass, Woman in Gold, One Chance) for Archery Pictures and Ariel Zeitoun (Colombiana). Miss Sloane will be released on December 9, 2016 by EuropaCorp.
Richter also has the sci-fi thriller Morgan starring Kate Mara, Anya Taylor-Joy, Paul Giamatti & Toby Jones coming up. The film will be released nationwide next weekend. The composer is also expected to return to score the third and final season of HBO’s The Leftovers.
