Premiering tonight is the Irish mini-series Rebellion directed by Aku Louhimies and starring Charlie Murphy, Ruth Bradley, Sarah Greene, Brian Gleeson, Michelle Fairley, Ian McElhinney, Michael Ford-Fitzgerald, Paul Reid, Barry Ward and Tom Turner. The 5-parter’s original music is composed by Stephen Rennicks (Room, Frank, Viva). Rebellion tells the story of the birth of modern Ireland through the eyes of three young women. Premiering on Friday, April 29, is the Netflix original movie Special Correspondents written and directed by Ricky Gervais who also stars in the film alongside Eric Bana, Vera Farmiga, Kelly Macdonald, Kevin Pollak, America Ferrera, Raul Castillo and Benjamin Bratt. Dickon Hinchliffe (Winter’s Bone, Out of the Furnace, Locke, Last Chance Harvey, Shadow Dancer) has composed the film’s original music. No word yet on a soundtrack release. The comedy follows a New York-based radio journalist who decides to fake front line war reports from the comfort of his hideout above a Spanish restaurant in Queens. The movie just premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and will be available exclusively on Netflix.
