Jon Brion has been hired to score the upcoming comedy drama Wilson. The film is directed by Craig Johnson (The Skeleton Twins, True Adolescents) and stars Woody Harrelson, Laura Dern, Judy Greer, Isabella Amara and Cheryl Hines. The movie is based on the graphic novel of the same title by Daniel Clowes (Ghost World, Art School Confidential) and follows a lonely, neurotic middle-aged misanthrope who reunites with his estranged wifeand gets a shot at happiness when he learns he has a teenage daughter he’s never met. Clowes has also written the screenplay. Mary Jane Skalski (The Visitor, The Station Agent, Win Win) and Jared Ian Goldman (Adult Beginners) are producing the project. Wilson is expected to premiere later this year and will be distributed by Fox Searchlight.
Brion’s previous film scoring credits include Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Magnolia, Punch Drunk Love, The Other Guys, Step Brothers, I Heart Huckabees, Para-Norman, This Is 40 and last year’s Trainwreck.
