Reza Safinia is composing the music for the upcoming dramatic comedy The Trust. The film is directed by Ben & Alex Brewer and stars Nicolas Cage, Elijah Wood, Jerry Lewis and Sky Ferreira. The movie revolves around two corrupt cops of the Las Vegas Police Department who discover a high bail receipt in connection to a drug bust and set in motion a plan to find the source of the money. Ben Brewer has also written the screenplay with Adam Hirsch. Molly Hassell (Edmond, Jackie & Ryan, Vamps) and Braxton Pope (The Canyons, Shrink) are producing the project. The Trust will premiere next month at the SXSW Film Festival.
Safinia whose previous scoring credits include Filly Brown and Mercy also has the romantic comedy drama The Bounce Back coming up. The film is directed by Youssef Delara and stars Shemar Moore, Nadine Velazquez, Bill Bellamy, Sheryl Underwood and Kali Hawk. The movie is set to be released in select theaters on March 18, 2016 by Freestyle Releasing.
