Ray Colcord has passed away at age 66 in Los Angeles, CA. The composer has been scoring numerous movies and TV shows over the last three decades. He received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination in 1991 for his main titles theme for NBC’s Singer & Sons. Colcord also composed the music for all seasons of Disney/ABC’s Dinosaurs and Boy Meets World and the CBS drama Promised Land. His other scoring credits include the classic Simpsons episode Dead Putting Society, episodes of The Facts of Life and Melissa & Joey and movies such as Heartwood, The King’s Guard and Wish Upon A Star. His last credit was the Disney Channel series Girl Meets World, which he has been scoring since 2014. Colcord also served as president of the Society of Composers & Lyricists (SCL) and as a governor of the Television Academy. He is survived by his wife and son.
