Andrew Bird is composing the score for the new FX original series Baskets. The show is created by Louis C.K., Zach Galifianakis & Jonathan Krisel (Portlandia) and stars Galifianakis himself, alongside Louie Anderson, Martha Kelly, Sabina Sciubba and Ernest Adams. The comedy is set in Bakersfield, California and follows a man who sets out on becoming a professional clown. After failing to get a degree at a prestigious clowning school in Paris, he is stuck with a job at a local rodeo. Louis C.K., Galifianakis & Krisel are also executive producing the project with M. Blair Breard (Louie), Dave Becky (Master of None, Everybody Hates Chris), Marc Gurvitz (According to Jim) and Andrea Pett-Joseph. Bird who is best known for his recording career as a singer/songwriter has previously scored a couple of shorts, as well as the 2010 feature Norman.
