Brian Tyler is composing the score for the upcoming documentary Under the Gun. The film is directed by Stephanie Soechtig (Fed Up) and centers around the mass shootings that have ripped across the United States, compounding an epidemic of gun violence in the country. The movie is told through the lens of the victims’ families, as well as pro-gun advocates. Olivia Ahnemann (Racing Extinction), Josh Kunau and Kristin Lazure are producing the project. Katie Couric who previously teamed up with Soechtig on Fed Up serves as an executive producer on the film. The movie marks Tyler’s first feature-length documentary assignment. Under the Gun will premiere in January at the Sundance Film Festival.
Tyler’s other upcoming projects include Now You See Me 2, which is set to be released on June 10, 2016, D.J. Caruso’s thriller The Disappointments Room, set to open on March 25, 2016, as well as the crime thriller Criminal (co-scored with Keith Power), which will be released on April 15, 2016.
I love it that he is stepping out and doing other projects, showing his very wide range of music.
