Geoff Zanelli has been tapped to score the upcoming drama Mountains and Stones. The film is directed by Joseph Ruben and stars Josh Hartnett, Michiel Husman, Hera Hilmar and Haluk Bilginer. The movie tells a love story between an idealistic American nurse and a Turkish officer in World War I. David Loughery (Lakeview Terrace, Passenger 57, Star Trek V: The Final Frontier) has written the screenplay with Jeff Stockwell (Bridge to Terabithia). William Stuart is producing the project. Ruben has previously collaborated with such composers as Jerry Goldsmith (Sleeping with the Enemy), James Horner (The Forgotten), Elmer Bernstein (The Good Son), Maurice Jarre (Dreamscape) and Mark Mancina (Money Train, Return to Paradise). Mountains and Stones is currently in post-production and is expected to be released in 2016.
Also coming up for Zanelli is the comedy Masterminds starring Zach Galifianakis, Kristen Wiig, Owen Wilson & Jason Sudeikis. The film was originally set to be released this year by Relativity Media and is currently awaiting a new release date.
