Giorgio Moroder revealed in a recent interview with Celluloid Tunes that he will be composing the music for the upcoming USA original series Queen of the South. The show is created by M.A. Fortin & Joshua John Miller (The Final Girls) and stars Alice Braga, Peter Gadiot, Carlos Gomez, Justina Machado and Joaquim de Almeida.. The drama centers on a woman whose drug-dealing boyfriend is unexpectedly murdered in Mexico and is forced to go on the run and seek refuge in America, where she teams with an unlikely figure from her past to bring down the leader of the very drug trafficking ring that has her on the run. Fortin and Miller are also executive producing the Fox 21 Television Studios production with David Friendly (Little Miss Sunshine, Doctor Dolittle), Scott Rosenbaum (Chuck, The Shield) and Pancho Mansfield (Damien). Moroder whose best known film music credits include the features Scarface, Midnight Express, Flashdance and Top Gun has also written music for an upcoming Tron video game based on the Disney franchise.
