DJ Steve Angello has joined the CW drama project The Drop as executive music producer. The show is being developed by Kyle Jarrow (A Very Merry Unauthorized Children’s Scientology Pageant) who is writing the screenplay and R.J. Cutler (The September Issue, Nashville) who is set to directed the project’s pilot. The series is set in Miami’s electronic dance music scene and centers on a DJ teetering on the edge of ruin who finds hope in a gifted protégé who is female and African-American, both rarities in the EDM world. Frank Marshall (Jurassic World, The Sixth Sense, The Bourne Identity) and Robert Zotnowski are also executive producing CBS TV Studios production. Angello was a member of the EDM group Swedish House Mafia. (Deadline)
