Ben Decter has been hired to score the upcoming ABC Family original series Shadowhunters. The show is based on the bestselling young adult fantasy book series The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare and follows an 18-year-old girl who finds out on her birthday that she is not who she thinks she is but rather comes from a long line of Shadowhunters – human-angel hybrids who hunt down demons. The Constantin Film production stars Katherine McNamara, Dominic Sherwood, Alberto Rosende, Emeraude Toubia, Matthew Daddario, Isaiah Mustafa, David Castro and Harry Shum Jr. Ed Decter (Unforgettable, The Client List) is producing the project with McG (Charlie’s Angels, Terminator: Salvation) who also directed the pilot episode. McG will also direct the first episode. For updates on the series, visit the official show website.
Decter is also co-scoring the second season of Extant, which currently airs Wednesday nights on CBS and will also return to co-score the second season of CSI: Cyber with Jeff Russo.
Big mistake! this guy obviously likes repetitive base beats going on & on & on, like a heartbeat on Angel Dust. His “music” just ruins the watching experience by being to distractive. It’s as if he’s trying to say “look here I am, look at me, don’t bother with the TV program, I’m much more interesting!”
