Stephen Warbeck is scoring the upcoming BBC drama The Dresser. The film id directed by Richard Eyre (Iris, Notes on a Scandal) and stars Anthony Hopkins, Ian McKellen, Emily Watson, Sarah Lancashire, Edward Fox, Vanessa Kirby, Tom Brooke, John Ashton, Ian Conningham, Annalisa Rossi, Helen Bradbury, Carl Sanderson, Matthew Cottle and Martin Chamberlain. The movie is based on Ronald Harwood’s play and tells the story of one fateful night in a small regional theatre during World War II as a troupe of touring actors stage a production of Shakespeare’s King Lear. Colin Callender (Wolf Hall, The Missing, The White Queen) is executive producing the project with Sonia Friedman, Polly Hill and Ben Stephenson. Warbeck has previously collaborated with Eyre on the feature The Other Man, as well as the Henry IV installments of The Hollow Crown. The Dresser is expected to premiere later this year or in early 2016 on BBC.
