Blake Neely has been hired to score the upcoming NBC drama Blindspot. The show is created by Martin Gero (Stargate: Atlantis, Bored to Death) and stars Jaimie Alexander, Sullivan Stapleton, Audrey Esparza, Rob Brown, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Ukweli Roach and Ashley Johnson. The series centers around a beautiful woman, with no memories of her past, who is found naked in Times Square with her body fully covered in intricate tattoos. Greg Berlanti (Everwood, Brothers and Sisters, Life As We Know It) is producing the Warner Bros. Television production with Sarah Schechter (The Flash, The Mysteries of Laura) and Gero. Mark Pellington (Arlington Road, The Mothman Prophecies) has directed the pilot episode. Blindspot will premiere this fall and air Monday nights on NBC. For updates on the drama, visit the official show website.
Neely also continues to score The CW’s The Flash and Arrow, which will return for new seasons this fall. The composer is also scoring the Tom Hanks-produced docu-series The Seventies, which currently airs Thursday nights on CNN, as well as the upcoming CBS drama Supergirl.
Though the notion of more music by Blake Neely is fantastic, this being an NBC series and the network’s history of failing to sustain anything that isn’t affiliated with Dick Wolf and Law & order these days doesn’t give me a lot of hope that it’ll last long enough to see a commercial release of the score..
