Howard Shore has been hired to score the upcoming drama Spotlight. The film is directed by Thomas McCarthy (The Visitor, The Station Agent, Win Win) and stars Mark Ruffalo, Michael Keaton, Rachel McAdams, Live Schreiber, Stanley Tucci, John Slattery, Brian d’Arcy James, Billy Crudup and Jamey Sheridan. The movie tells the true story of four members of the Boston Globe’s investigative Spotlight team who sacrificed everything to expose the Boston Archdiocese’s systemic cover up of sexual abuse of children by ordained priests. McCarthy also co-wrote the screenplay with Josh Singer (The Fifth Estate, Fringe). Steve Golin (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Being John Malkovich) and Michael Sugar (Big Miracle, The Fifth Estate) of Anonymous Content are producing the project with Nicole Rocklin (Middle of Nowhere) and Blye Faust of Rocklin/Faust. Spotlight is expected to be released this fall by Open Road Films.
