Jeff Russo has been tapped to score the upcoming Spike TV original miniseries Tut. The limited series is directed by David Von Ancken (Seraphim Falls, Californication) and stars Avan Jogia, Ben Kingsley, Alexander Siddig, Nonso Anozi, Iddo Goldberg, Peter Gadiot, Sibylla Deen and Kylie Bunbury. The 6-parter tells the story of Tutankhamun, aka King Tut, the youngest Pharaoh to rule Ancient Egypt, whose famous golden sarcophagus has become one of the symbols of the ancient civilization. Joel S. Rice and Michael Prupas (The Pillars of the Earth, Being Human, The Kennedys) are executive producing the project for Muse Entertainment, alongside Michael Vickerman (Warriors of Virtue), Bradley Bredeweg, Peter Paige & Greg Gugliotta (The Fosters), Jeremy Elice and Angela Mancuso. Tut marks Spike TV’s first scripted event series in eight years and will premiere later this year.
Russo will also return to score the second season of FX’s Fargo, which is set to premiere later this year. The composer’s other current projects include A&E’s The Returned, CBS’ CSI: Cyber and Battle Creek, USA’s Complications and Starz’s Power.
