Haim Mazar has signed on to score the upcoming action thriller Criminal. The film is directed by Ariel Vromen and stars Kevin Costner, Gary Oldman, Tommy Lee Jones, Ryan Reynolds, Alice Eve and Gal Gadot. The movie revolves around a dangerous criminal who has the memories and skills of a dead CIA agent implanted into his brain in order to track down and stop an international terrorist. Douglas Cook & David Weisberg (The Rock, Double Jeopardy) have written the screenplay. Chris Bender (The Butterfly Effect, We’re the Millers), J.C. Spink (A History of Violence), Mark Gill (Olympus Has Fallen) and Matt O’Toole (Before I Go to Sleep) are producing the project. Mazar has previously scored Vromen’s last feature The Iceman starring Michael Shannon, Winona Ryder, Ray Liotta, Chris Evans and James Franco. Criminal is set to be released on August 21, 2015.
Mazar’s recent work also includes the indie horror film The Taking of Deborah Logan produced by Bryan Singer, written and directed by Adam Robitel and starring Jill Larson, Anne Ramsay and Michelle Ang. The movie was released this fall by Millennium Films and is now available on VOD and DVD.
