Premiering tomorrow, August 4, on FX is the new comedy Partners created by Robert L. Boyett & Robert Horn and starring Kelsey Grammer, Martin Lawrence, Telma Hopkins, Rory O’Malley, McKaley Miller, Edi Patterson and Danièle Watts. The show’s original music is composed by Bennett Salvay (Jeepers Creepers, Friday Night Lights, Providence). Partners follows two Chicago lawyers from vastly different backgrounds who unexpectedly meet in court as they each face a personal crisis. The comedy will air every Monday night on FX. Premiering on Friday, August 8 is the Cinemax original series The Knick directed by Steven Soderbergh and starring Clive Owen, Andre Holland, Juliet Rylance, Eve Hewson, Collin Meath and Michael Angarano. Cliff Martinez (Drive, The Lincoln Lawyer, Solaris) who previously collaborated with Soderbergh on projects including Traffic, Contagion and Sex, Lies and Videotapes is composing the show’s original music. The Knick follows the groundbreaking surgeons, nurses and staff at the Knickerbocker Hospital in time of astonishingly high mortality rates and zero antibiotics. Premiering on Saturday, August 9 is the Starz original series Outlander created by Ronald D. Moore and starring Caitrona Balfe, Sam Heughan, Tobias Menzies, Duncan Lacroix, Graham McTavish, Gary Lewis, Annette Badland and Stephen Walters. The show’s original score is composed by Bear McCreary (The Walking Dead, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., DaVinci’s Demons) who previously scored Moore’s Battlestar Galactica.
