German electronic musician Apparat is set to compose the music for the upcoming sci-fi romance Equals. The film is directed by Drake Doremus and stars Kristen Stewart and Nicholas Hoult. The movie is set in the future and centers on a couple young couple rebelling against their society where emotions have been eradicated. Nathan Parker (Moon) has written the screenplay. Ridley Scott is producing the project with Michael Schaefer (Exodus: Gods and Kings), Ann Ruark (The Beaver, The Motel Life), Jay Stern and Chip Diggins (Love and Honor). Doremus’ previous two features Like Crazy and Breathe In were scored by Dustin O’Halloran. Equals marks Apparat’s first time composing original music for film. His track Goodbye was used in the season 4 finale of Breaking Bad and his music also appeared in the British TV series Skins. Equals is set to start shooting this August in Japan and Singapore.
