Quartet Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack release for the 1988 family adventure Mac and Me directed by Stewart Raffill and starring Jade Calegory, Christine Ebersole, Jonathan Ward, Katrina Caspary and Lauren Stanley. The album features the film’s original music composed and conducted by Alan Silvestri (Back to the Future, Forrest Gump, The Avengers, The Croods). In addition to the score, the album also features two pop songs the composer wrote for the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) release. The label has also also announced premiere CD release of the soundtrack for the Spanish-Italian 1977 thriller The Pyjama Girl Case (La ragazza dal pigiama giallo) directed by Flavio Mogherini and starring Dalila Di Lazzaro, Ray Milland, Mel Ferrer, Antonio Ferrandis and Fernando Fernán-Gómez. The album features the film’s original music composed and conducted by Riz Ortolani (Mondo Cane, War Goddess), as well as two original songs co-composed and performed by Amanda Lear. Finally great to have one of Alan Silvestri’s most delightful scores from one of the worst movies he ever did (and that’s saying something).
