Varese Sarabande has announced the details of the soundtrack album for the comedy drama Calvary. The album features the film’s original music composed by Patrick Cassidy (Kill the Irishman, Salem’s Lot) who recorded his music with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra in Dublin. The soundtrack will be released on May 13, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Calvary is written and directed by John Michael McDonagh (The Guard) and stars Brendan Gleeson, Chris O’Dowd, Kelly Reilly, Aidan Gillen, Dylan Moran, Marie-Josée Croze, Isaach De Bankolé, Pat Shortt, David Wilmot and Domhnall Gleeson. The movie follows a good-natured priest whose world is put into disarray after being threatened during a confession. The dramedy premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and was released last week in the UK. Fox Searchlight has picked up domestic distribution rights for a release in the U.S. on August 1, 2014.
