The only wide release this weekend is the found-footage horror spin-off Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones directed by Christopher Landon and starring Andrew Jacobs, Jorge Diaz, Gabrielle Walsh, Renee Victor, Noemi Gonzalez, David Saucedo, Gloria Sandoval, Richard Cabral, Carlos Pratts and Juan Vasquez. As the previous films in the Paranormal Activity series, the movie doesn’t feature any original score and no soundtrack album has been announced. Opening in limited release this week is the drama The Best Offer (La migliore offerta) directed by Giuseppe Tornatore and starring Geoffrey Rush, Jim Sturgess, Sylvia Hoeks and Donald Sutherland. The movie’s original music is composed and conducted by Ennio Morricone who previously collaborated with the director numerous times on films including Cinema Paradiso and The Legend of 1900. Also opening in limited release is the Japanese crime drama Beyond Outrage written and directed by Takeshi Kitano who also stars in the film alongside Ryo Kase, Toshiyuki Nishida, Shun Sugata, Machiko Ono and Ken Mitsushi. Keiichi Suzuki has composed the film’s original score.Sony Music Japan has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music in Asia. No word on a domestic release. Beyond Outrage centers on a manipulative police crackdown on organized crime that ignites a tricky power struggle in the yakuza underworld. Also opening in select theaters is the thriller Open Grave directed by Gonzalo López-Gallego and starring Sharlto Copley, Thomas Kretschmann, Josie Ho, Joseph Morgan, Erin Richards and Max Wrottesley. The film’s original score is composed by Juan Navazo. No word on a soundtrack release. Open Grave follows a man who wakes up in a mass grave and must piece together what happened with a group of strangers who have all lost their memories.
