Nathan Johnson is currently scoring the upcoming sci-fi action thriller Young Ones. The film is written and directed by Jake Paltrow (The Good Night) and stars Michael Shannon, Nicholas Hoult, Elle Fanning and Kodi Smit-McPhee. The movie is set in a violent near-future where water has become the most precious resource on the planet and follows a 14-year-old boy forced to use his wits to survive. Tristan Orpen Lynch (Song for a Raggy Boy, Love & Savagery) is producing the project for Subotica Entertainment and Michael Auret (Black Butterflies) is producing for Spier Films. Johnson’s previous film scoring credits include Rian Johnson’s Brick, The Brothers Bloom and Looper, as well as this year’s Don Jon directed by and starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Young Ones is set to premiere next month at the Sundance Film Festival. (Den of Geek)
