Quartet Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack release for the 1991 action thriller sequel F/X2 directed by Richard Franklyn (Psycho II, Link) and starring Bryan Brown and Brian Dennehy. The album features the film’s original score written and conducted by Academy Award-nominated composer Lalo Schifrin (Mission: Impossible, Enter the Dragon, Bullit, Rush Hour) who followed Bill Conti who scored Robert Mandel’s original 1986 film. The soundtrack features Schifrin’s complete score in film order. The label has also announced the world premiere CD release for Disney’s 1976 family drama Escape From the Dark (aka The Littlest Horse Thieves) directed by Charles Jarrott (Anne of the Thousand Days, Mary Queen of Scots) and starring Alastair “Scrooge” Sim and Peter Barkworth. The album features the film’s original music composed and conducted by Ron Goodwin (633 Squadron, Battle of Britain) and performed by the South Yorkshire brass band The Grimethorpe Colliery Band. The soundtrack features the complete score, as well as a number of cues not included in the film. The label’s final new release is the world premiere soundtrack album for the 1960 Italian drama La ragazza con la valigia (aka Girl with a Suitcase) directed by Valerio Zurlini and starring Claudia Cardinale and Jacques Perrin.
