Paul Haslinger is scoring the upcoming thriller No Good Deed. The film is directed by Sam Miller (Luther) and stars Idris Elba, Taraji P. Henson, Henry Simmons, Kate del Castillo and Mark Smith. The movie follows a former district attorney turned stay-at-home mom and her two children who are terrorized and kidnapped after she invites a stranger into their home to wait for help after his car runs off the road. Aimee Lagos (96 Minutes) has written the screenplay and Will Packer (Think Like a Man, Obsessed, Stomp the Yard) is producing the project through his Rainforest Films company, alongside Lee Clay (Beautiful Boy). Haslinger has previously collaborated with Packer on Screen Gems’ 2010 thriller Takers. No Good Deed is set to be released on September 12, 2014 by Sony Pictures’ Screen Gems label.
Haslinger whose previous film scoring credits include Underworld, Crank, Death Race and The Three Musketeers also is reuniting with John Stockwell on the director’s upcoming thriller In the Blood. The film starring Gina Carano, Amaury Nolasco, Stephen Lang, Luis Guzman, Cam Gigandet, Danny Trejo, Treat Williams, Ismael Cruz Cordova and Yvette Yates follows a woman whose husband goes missing during their Caribbean vacation and her drive to take down the men she thinks are responsible. Bennett Yellin (Dumb & Dumber) and James Robert Johnston have written the screenplay. Ray Mansfield & Shaun Redick are producing the project with Cash Warren & Marina Grasic. Haslinger has previously scored numerous films for Stockwell, including Blue Crush, Into the Blue, Crazy/Beautiful and Turistas. In the Blood was recently packed up by Anchor Bay Films for a theatrical release in 2014.
